Barry is a Founder member and Director of WCR and has developed the organisation over the last few years to serve the community in a variety of ways. He enjoys a variety of music genres, theatre, photography, and is an accomplished Scuba diver. He also lectures in broadcasting (what a surprise); qualified as an adult education lecturer and observer of teaching and learning, an associate of the Institute for learning. He won the town's civic award in 1999, Community Champions award in 2003, and was made 'National Community Media Volunteer of the Year' 2005. His showcase shows look at: odd words, strange facts and more good music. He is also one of the three 'Large Spots.'
