Stan Mayer was born in 1946 and his early life in Stoke-on-Trent gave him a life-long interest in canals, engineering and local history.  Stan joined the army and was stationed in Warminster where he has remained over the past 40 years, with only one short break.  During his four year break, back in Stoke-on-Trent, he continued to record programmes for WCR and sent them to Warminster by post.  Stan prides himself on providing music for every taste.
